Jeweler

Overview: Design, fabricate, adjust, repair, or appraise jewelry, gold, silver, other precious metals, or gems. Includes diamond polishers and gem cutters and persons who perform precision casting and modeling of molds, casting metal in molds, or setting precious and semi-precious stones for jewelry and related products.

Job Outlook: Employment for jewelers is expected to grower slower than average through 2018. Continued growth in imports will limit demand, particularly for lower-skilled workers. However, demand for skilled jewelers will grow as consumers seek more customized jewelry.
Education Level: The typical training required for this career is generally a High School Degree or GED Certificate.
