|Job Outlook:||Employment of business professors is expected to grow faster than average through 2018 due primarily to increases in college and university enrollment over the next decade. Tenure track positions in 4-year colleges will be harder to obtain. More opportunities are available at online universities and community colleges.|
|Starting Salary:||Average annual salaries in four-year colleges and universities are higher than those in two-year colleges. The average annual salary for associate professors is lower than that of full professors and is based on a nine-month year.|
|Education Level:||Candidates for this occupation generally have completed their Bachelor’s Degree and have continued their education either 1 or 2 years longer.|
|Additional Training/Education:||Four-year colleges and universities generally hire those with a doctoral degree for full time, tenure track positions, but may hire those with a master's degree, or doctoral candidates for certain disciplines, or part-time or temporary positions. In two-year colleges, a master's degree is often adequate for full-time positions.|
