Chief Executives

Overview: Determine and formulate policies and provide overall direction of companies or private and public sector organizations within guidelines set up by a board of directors or similar governing body. Plan, direct, or coordinate operational activities at the highest level of management with the help of subordinate executives and staff managers.
Duties:
Degree(s): A.A.S. Management: Marketing Concentration 
A.A.S. Management: Real Estate-Insurance Concentration 
A.S. Business Administration (Accounting and Marketing) 
Job Outlook: Employment of private sector executives is expected to grow as fast as average through 2018 because top managers are essential to the success of their organizations and their jobs cannot be automated or offshored. Growth varies by industry and is affected by mergers, acquistions, and layoffs of workers in the company.

Education Level: Typically, a Bachelor’s Degree from a 4-year college (some are 5 years) is required to be considered for this occupation.

  • Paying attention to what other people are saying, and taking time to understand the points being made.
  • Determining how much money is required to get a job done, allocating those monies, and then accounting for all expenditures.
