Human Resources Management Advisor
|Overview:||Human resource advisors map-out an organization's strategy for recruitment, staffing, compensating and developing the organization's workforce so as to meet the organization's goals. They implement performance appraisal programs, resolve employee grievances and counsel.|
|Duties:||They analyze an organization's business goals and the kinds of work force skills needed to achieve these goals. They study the company's work force to determine if those skills are available.
Determine the kinds & numbers of new employees to be recruited. Plan recruitment strategy & sources for applicants. Interview applicants at college campuses & professional conferences.
They determine the organization's criteria for promoting and compensating employees. They design performance appraisal programs to measure employee performance.
They design employee training and development programs to insure availability of employees to fill vacant positions. They conduct morale surveys to measure satisfaction and identify grievances.

|Job Outlook:||Employment of human resource management advisors is expected to grow much faster than average through 2018. Consulting services is expected to be the fastest growing industry through the decade. Demand is attributed to economic growth and the continuing complexity of business which means need for advice, in part, on candidate selection, appropriate salaries and benefits for employees.|
|Salary Range (National Average):||$32,000 to $36,000|
|Education Level:||Typically, a Bachelor’s Degree from a 4-year college (some are 5 years) is required to be considered for this occupation.|
|Additional Training/Education:||Human Resource Management advisory positions generally require a bachelor's or often a master's degree in either human resource management, industrial relations, business or psychology. Actually, a mix of courses from all these study areas is essential. Additional courses in computer applications and statistics are becoming increasingly important.|
Understanding acquiring positions in this field may be enhanced through continuing academic study (i.e. earning a baccalaureate or a master's degree) and/or work experience in the field, Queensborough Community College has established transfer agreements with other institutions for students who wish to further pursue their educational goals.
