Registrar Administrator

Overview: Registrar administrators manage a college or university's activities for enrolling new students and recording their course choices and grades. They do class scheduling, prepare statistical reports of student grades and decide upon graduation grade and course requirements.
Duties: They decide upon academic criteria for the admission of new students applying to the college. Direct the evaluation procedure to assess applicants to assure the college admits a mix of students.

Coordinate the college students' registration programs enabling students to choose their elective courses & to assure students take the required courses for their major area of study.

Track & monitor student grade point averages. Issues warnings to students who do not meet minimum standards. Prepare student transcripts & exchange student information with other colleges.

They coordinate course scheduling. Determine which students are ineligible to graduate. They prepare statistical reports about student's performance for submission to educational agencies.

Degree(s): A.A.S. Management: Marketing Concentration 
A.A.S. Management: Real Estate-Insurance Concentration 
A.S. Business Administration (Accounting and Marketing) 
Job Outlook: Employment of registrar administrators is expected to grow as fast as average through 2018.
Salary Range (National Average): $30,000 to $38,000
Education Level: Typically, a Bachelor’s Degree from a 4-year college (some are 5 years) is required to be considered for this occupation.
Additional Training/Education: The most common training requirement for this administrative position in a major college or university is a master's, Ph.D. or Ed.D. degree in higher education administration. However, a bachelor's degree will qualify you for a staff job in admissions, student affairs, financial aid and the registrar's office. Educational administration degree programs include courses in school management, school law, finance, curriculum development, research design, community relations and counseling.
